I'm With CocoFor several weeks, the news was all over the story of late night television. Namely one Conan O’Brien who parted ways with the decades old franchise of The Tonight Show. Growing up, it was a dream of mine to take part in this industry and as it has unfolded, I am glad that my life did not take me there. Conan got caught in the intersection of where media and business are headed and where it has been. And it is for this reason that I am still with Coco.

Conan O’Brien got the short end of the stick. Everybody has gotten the short end of the stick. So people related. Online and offline protests took place. His ratings went through the roof for doing what he had been for the last 7 months. But he took up a notch. He used online properties to express his comedy. He applauded the creativity of those that were coming up with the support for him. This is something we have never seen in network television. It worked and will work when he is out from under his contractual obligations.

This is my hope: that Conan O’Brien finds a way to create his own franchise, continue to interact with his audience and show the world that there is a new way to make money and creativity on television. Just like the dream that he had and I had as young men growing up, that he can lead a new generation of young people to love producing creativity and make a living out of it. Make it happen Coco!

As I write this, I am sitting on the floor of the US Airways Center where the Suns are struggling against the Golden State Warriors. That is correct, you read that correctly, the Golden State Warriors. A team riddled with injuries and the Suns are barely keeping their heads above water.

The reason I write this is because it is much like my situation this past summer. Working hard on several projects, nothing seemed to click and making ends meet became very difficult. With sports still a month out and a stack of bills, I began looking for work.

I write this for two reasons. First as an explanation to why the last few posts are dated from May. To be quite honest, I just wasn’t up to it. But, the other reason is to update a previous post regarding my profession. It was a huge blessing in October when I was hired by Antigua, the maker of some premium golf shirts and apparel. I am now in the eCommerce and Social Marketing department. Needless to say, it is a perfect fit and I am thrilled with the new situation. Thus the reason to resurrect this blog. It is time for a change.

So moving forward, this will be a place for me to share my thoughts on things ecommerce, social media and interactive marketing. I am learning a ton, having a blast and I must take the time to share. Plus, I have been jonesing to write a bit. So, welcome back to MattPosts.com.

And now the game is over and the Suns ended the game on top, 112-103. So, just like life, after struggling the home team can come out on top. It’s great to be here. Thanks for playing.

If you were not aware, on the May 5th episode of the Oprah Show, they did a show called Harpo Hookups where they did cool things for some of their viewers. As a gift to her viewers, they made available online a coupon for a free KFC 2 piece Grilled Chicken meal. Not just the [...]

Thanks to the random and varied posts that I add to Twitter, that then get transmitted to Facebook, I have been getting this question quite often. What exactly do you do? I understand how it is difficult to figure out as I just can’t say “Insurance Salesman” or “Radio DJ”. The catchalls that I have [...]

Don’t you hate that, when someboday has set up a blog and not written anything. I understand, but I have been setting up the back end and have not had time to post. I will be here shortly. Thanks for your patience.
